If you're on my newsletter mailing list as well as a reader of this blog, you will already know (and my apologies for repeating myself!) that the fourth Esme Quentin Mystery is now written, and due to be published later this spring (more about the book in a moment).
So, I'm heading off to the wilds of the Cornish Coast to recharge my writing batteries before I get back to finalising the manuscript for sending off to my editor.
Room with a view
The place I'm staying in is a fabulous location with a stunning view (middle photo) looking out across an amazing beach.
But I don't think the weather is going to be particularly kind, so I'm going prepared with plenty to keep me amused, as you can see below. It's a great opportunity to catch up with some reading - a few crime fiction novels, a couple of non-fiction books and a backlog of Family Tree magazines which have been waiting patiently for me to find the time to get to them. And I might even be able to master the fiendishly difficult chord of B-flat on my ukulele by the end of the week, too, if I practice hard enough!
I'm planning a complete break so, there won't be a blog post next week. Instead you can think of me, feet up in front of the wood-burning stove, browsing through my reading matter and watching the waves out of the window.
Title of the new book!
But before I go, I'll leave you with a taster of what's next for Esme in the new novel, which is called... (drum roll....)
The Fear of Ravens
Esme Quentin exposes a cauldron of suspicion, bigotry and revenge,
when she uncovers a sinister truth in a family’s ill-fated past.
Watch this space for more about the book over the next few weeks.
See you when I get back from my travels!
Thanks, Helen. Yes, quite right. An excuse to indulge and be really lazy! 😂
It looks a wonderful location. I wouldn't mind bad weather. I'd probably love it all the more. Enjoy!
